Julya Hegarty is a multi- disciplinary artist, creating 2D and 3D artworks from her small, shed studio situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Her canvas and ceramic art works are heavily inspired by the flora and fauna native to the coastal regions found within her local tropical rainforest bush settings.  Within her large acrylic and canvas panels she uses vibrant, bold colours, rejoicing in the expressiveness of floral forms , finding beauty in all the twists and turns of the organic shapes, reflecting a whimsical naïve style. 

Julya has completed and attained awards in local and interstate art competitions, most recently she won the 3D component for the 2022 Sunshine Coast Local Content Prize and was a finalist in the Sydney based National Emerging Art Prize.
